Code Create Play is operated by Tomás Brides. For questions about this policy or how personal information is handled, contact tom@codecreateplay.com.

Information you may provide

Information is only collected when you choose to submit it. Depending on the form, this may include:

• your name
• your organisation
• your email address
• the details of your enquiry or message
• resource-signup details, where applicable

When forms on this website are enabled, information you submit through them may be processed for the purpose described on the form. Where a form says it is not switched on yet, nothing you type into it is sent.

Education and training enquiries

Information submitted through the education enquiry form is used only to:

• respond to your enquiry
• discuss a potential course, licence, workshop or programme
• maintain reasonable business correspondence related to that enquiry

Education enquiries are not automatically added to a marketing list. They are separate from the book and resource mailing-list signup.

Book resources and email signup

The site may offer downloadable resources associated with Code, Create, Play. When the book-resource signup is enabled, the details you submit may be used to:

• give you access to the resources you requested
• send emails directly related to those resources

If you are ever subscribed to broader news or marketing updates, that will only happen where appropriate consent has been obtained.

The site may use an email delivery provider such as Brevo to process resource requests and related email communications when this functionality is enabled.

Contact form providers

The site may use a form-processing provider such as Web3Forms to securely deliver enquiry submissions. Where such a provider is used, the information submitted through the form is processed only as necessary to deliver the enquiry.

Emails

If you email tom@codecreateplay.com directly, your email address, your message and any information you include will be used to respond and to manage the correspondence.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not use browser local storage for tracking. For that reason there is no cookie banner. Some articles include embedded videos; see the next section.

Embedded content and external services

Some articles embed YouTube videos using the privacy-enhanced domain youtube-nocookie.com. If you play or interact with an embedded video, YouTube may process data such as your IP address and device information, and may set cookies or similar storage, under its own privacy policy.

Server logs and hosting

Hosting infrastructure may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, the pages requested and timestamps. This is used for security, reliability and server operation.

Legal basis

Personal information may be processed where necessary to:

• respond to your request or enquiry
• take steps you have asked for before entering into a business relationship
• pursue legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website and the business
• send optional marketing or resource communications, where your consent is required

How long information is kept

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to enquiries, maintaining relevant business records, and meeting legal or administrative requirements.

Where email communications are based on consent, details may be kept until you unsubscribe or ask for them to be removed.

Sharing information

Personal information is not sold. It may be shared only where necessary with service providers that support the website, email delivery, form processing or hosting. Those providers process information for the relevant service.

International processing

Service providers and hosting may process information outside the country where you live. Where required by applicable data-protection law, appropriate safeguards are used for such processing.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including in Ireland and the EU/EEA), you may have the right to:

• access the personal information held about you
• have it corrected
• have it deleted
• ask for its use to be restricted
• object to its use
• receive it in a portable format
• withdraw consent, where consent is relied upon
